D’Iberville
Although one of the oldest settlements of the Gulf Coast, it was not until 1988 that D’Iberville officially became a city. Today, it is one of the fastest growing cities in the area with its large retail centers, restaurants, golfing, sports complex and bustling residential developments. It is centrally located along I-10 and the I-110 corridor leading to the beach. D’Iberville has much to offer with a master plan that promotes new urbanism. While retaining the flavor of a sleepy fishing village D’Iberville has become a choice spot for relaxed living and booming business. As a recognized business and tourist hot spot, the area offers a thriving business climate along with beautiful scenery and many choices of recreational activities.
Fresh seafood is always available along the piers on the bay, as well as a thriving seafood processing industry that’s been around for over 75 years. The large bay and Tchoutacabouffa River provide the perfect environment for fishing and watersports fun. As with other coast areas, festivals, barbecue cook-offs and kid friendly activities abound. There is excitement and anticipation as D’Iberville awaits its first casino resort projected to open in late 2015.
