Diamondhead

Diamondhead was established in the 1970s as a planned community to appeal an older demographic seeking a place to retire. In February 2012, It was chartered as Mississippi’s 111th city. Over time it has changed into a town of varied age groups. Much of life is centered around Diamondhead’s marina, yacht club, tennis club, country club, and golf course. Named after Diamond Head, Hawaii, the Hawaiian influence is applied throughout the area. Most of the roads are named with Hawaiian names, the various community centers and private homes have a Hawaiian look.

Since most of Diamondhead was a planned community it has many facilities designed to attract home buyers. Some of these facilities include community pools and parks, community center, adult learning center, grocery, hardware store, restaurants, bowling, a private airstrip and multiple ponds and lakes.
